From June until September 2016, the Trans Mountain Expansion (TMX) Ministerial Panel engaged Canadians on the TMX Project, harnessing their input to help the government make a more informed final decision on the project.
Since early July, the panel held 44 public meetings in 11 Alberta and British Columbia communities along the proposed TMX pipeline and marine corridors. Over 2400 Canadians attended these public meetings, and more than 650 made presentations to the panel. In addition, nearly 34,000 Canadians completed our online questionnaire, with almost 20,000 more making submissions by email.
Our consultations are now complete. On behalf of the Minister of Natural Resources and the Government of Canada, thank you for sharing your time and views on this important issue.
The Panel will now review this input to identify views not heard by the initial National Energy Board review, and produce a report on these for the Minister of Natural Resources by November 1, 2016.
